A few days ago, reports emerged that the church bishops were working on plans to bring together Deputy President William Ruto and President Uhuru Kenyatta, who has fallen out after Raila Odinga joined government through the Handshake.
The church bishop beseeched DP and Uhuru to reconcile arguing that the more the two top leaders clash in public, the more dangerous it is for Kenyans, particularly with the next general election only a few months away.
According to reports, the State House may have given up on stopping DP Ruto, opting instead for the last resort of negotiating with the second in command.
The State House is also said to be attempting to seek assurances that he, the DP Ruto will treat them well if he forms the government next year after they realized that, backed by all indicators that DP Ruto has a better chance of succeeding President Uhuru Kenyatta.
