Uhuru Accused Of Appointing MPs To Play Role Of Prefects, In Latest Move To Streamline BBI Agenda

The BBI document is currently awaiting to be approved by the Parliament before it can proceed to the Referendum stage.

Hence Uhuru and Raila have asked MPs and Senators to form joint committees, which are expected to spearhead and push the document quicker.

According to a report established by the Nation, the two leaders have taken some interesting measures in order to ensure that the document is quickly passed by the Senate.

For Instance, Uhuru has recently been accused of appointing Members of Parliament whom he trusts, of playing the role of Prefects, by some of the committee members.

These prefects, have been said to randomly attend committee meetings Without any sought of invitation. National Assembly majority whip Amos Kimunya has for instance being labelled as a prefect, by some of the MPs.

"The only thing that could have brought him to the committee was to prefect members." "Members were actually shocked." Makueni Senator Mutula Kilonzo Junior said.
