Hon. Kipchumba Murkomen, a former senator from Elgeyo Marakwet county and the new cabinet secretary for transportation, came out to address the strike notice after Kenya Airways pilots gave the government a strike notice today.
According to NTV News, Kipchumba Murkomen argued that it was unfair for the pilots to put the new administration to the test by calling a strike. The pilots, in the opinion of Hon Kipchumba Murkomen, are acting quite irresponsibly. He went on to say that he hoped the issue, which has so far had an impact on more than 10,000 passengers both inside and outside the country, will be resolved in the best possible manner and within the shortest possible period.
The pilots' attempt to test the new leadership with the strike is unfair, and we hope that a decision will be made as soon as possible. So far, about 10,000 passengers have been impacted. Hon Kipchumba Murkomen said
