DP Ruto Once Again Supports Decision By Five Bench Judges On Terming BBI Unconstitutional.

Deputy President William Ruto has said that the decision by the five High Court judges declaring the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) sponsored Constitution amendment process illegal must gain support from everyone.

The DP fired at President Uhuru Kenyatta and opposition leader Raila Odinga’s push to have the supreme law (Constitution) of the land amended.

DP Ruto said that the Constitution cannot be changed just to favor the personal political interests of a few individuals.

Speaking at his Karen residence in Nairobi,DP Ruto insisted that the days when those in power would abuse the Constitution and institutions created by it to achieve their agenda are long gone.

He also added that if whatever those in power are pursuing is in conflict with the constitution, it is not the constitution to be altered but it is what they are chasing that should be altered to be in line with the constitution.

DP Ruto also criticized the idea have the governance structure in the country changed more so in the expansion of the executive.
