Gideon Moi Exits OKA as Details Emerge What He Will Be Doing To DP Ruto in Favour of Raila Odinga

The Kenya African National Union Party has informed their exit from the One Kenya Alliance as details emerge what Gideon Moi will be doing to Deputy President William Ruto in favor of former Prime Minister Raila Odinga Statehouse Bid.

KANU Secretary General Nick Salat has informed that they will not continue with the One Kenya Alliance a formation made of Wiper led by Kalonzo Musyoka, Amani National Congress Party led by Musalia Mudavadi, and Ford Kenya Party led by Moses Wetang'ula issuing fresh details.

According to Salat, he has said that as the KANU they have realized that being in the OKA is meaningless and that the formation would be meaningful if only the Building Bridges Initiative survived.

“Oka would only have survived if BBI went through. It was reliant on BBI. With the two missteps at the High Court and the Court of Appeal, favortuation does not favor Oka. It is time for Kanu to repackage itself and go out there to speak to Kenyans directly,” Salat said.

The KANU Secretary-General has said that Gideon Moi will be declaring his presidential bid before the end of this month saying that as the Independence Party, they have realized that, “The utterances that are also coming from the people concerned in Oka do not augur well and time is also not on Oka’s side.”

However, pundits have disclosed that the move by Gideon Moi to declare his presidential bid is to weaken Deputy President William Ruto's influence in the Rift Valley region hence giving former Prime Minister Raila Odinga a chance to win over the region's votes.
