It is a huge blow to the deputy president William Samoei Ruto as Raila Odinga and Uhuru Kenyatta sins against the political parties bill that was scheduled before the senate for debate. The 28 elected senators voted for the bill as only 4 governors vote against the bill which was tabled in the, senate after passing through the national assembly.
The next step awaiting for the DP Ruto is to go to the court to block the bill from being put into operation after the bill is presented to Uhuru Kenyatta to sign it off.
The bill seeks to prevent leaders from vying for various seats after loosing in the party nominations to ensure that the presidential leaders does not loose their influence over mass defection after the party nomination's.

The majority leader warned the UDA leaders against complaining to be having numbers but in real sense only 4 senators voted for the bill.
