Mithika Linturi was to face hard moments as was preparing to meet members of parliament for his vetting after president Ruto nominated him to cabinet secretary docket.

Some years back the Agriculture Cabinet Secretary nominee was sued by a lady of attempted rape in a Nanyuki hotel charges Linturi pleaded not guilty.

But today the awaiting minister can breathe a sigh of relief as the lady decided to withdraw the charges and settle the matter out of court according to the news flash by Citizen TV digital.

Opposition members of parliament had vowed not to allow the name of Linturi to go through the vetting process since he had an active case in court raising questions on chapter six of the constitution.

The vetting exercise is expected to commence this week as president Ruto officially opened both parliaments last week.
