Senior counsel lawyer Ahmednassir Abdullahi has alleged of a new plan by the government to influence the upcoming 2022 general elections.

Taking to his Twitter handle on Monday night, the flamboyant lawyer claimed some big men in president Uhuru Kenyatta's office were intentionally delaying processing of IDs for residents in Riftvalley, Central, Nairobi and North Eastern regions.

He said this move is aimed at ensuring registration of new voters is suppressed in those regions and in turn manipulate the upcoming election.

With his named regions considered to be the second in command's strongholds, he seemingly said this was another plot by the government to reduce DP Ruto's chances of winning the 2022 elections.

"With voter registration starting in October, mandarins in the OFFICE of the PRESIDENT will start playing the politics of ID CARDS...new ID CARDS for RIFT VALLEY, CENTRAL, NAIROBI and NFD will held up in "administrative snafu" to ensure voter registration is SUPPRESSED!, " Ahmednassir Abdullahi tweeted.

Ahmednassir Abdullahi is an ally of deputy president Dr William Samoei Ruto.

Here are reactions to his remark;

"Am a form four leaver and i applied an identification card in July na bado hatujapata till date….everything is not alright"

"That's what you did to baba strongholds in 2017. What goes around is always sweet when it comes around, translation- Alie juu mngoje 2022"

"I doubt this is campaigning for UDA but instead instilling people with fear and hatred. Ushindwe kabisa"
