A former street boy and Mathira MP parliamentary seat aspirant Daniel Kiige has rejected Rigathi Gachagua's offer to drop out of the Mathira race. Daniel Kiige is vying for the seat on an independent ticket. During a function, Rigathi Gachagua is said to have asked him to drop out of the race as he would be given a job by the governor when he wins in August.
Daniel Kiige however argued, when he took the microphone and said that it is the people who sent him to vie and therefore they should have the final say. He then went on to say that getting a job in the county government was dependent on whether Governor Kahiga wins in August which is also a gamble.
He said that he would meet his opponents at the ballot and that is where the score was to be settled. Mathira is the seat that Gachagua has been holding even as he now seeks to become the next deputy president.
