Trouble Again For Wafula Chebukati As He Risks a Jail Term Concerning The 2017 General Elections

Fresh details have emerged on how the 2017 general elections are still haunting IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati. This comes after the elections were categorized with some sought irregularities and technical issue that arose from unknown computer servers. Years have passed but up to now, the mysterious servers have not been opened at all.

The IEBC chairman is now battling to free himself from the jaws of Muslim for Human Rights who want him behind bars. The move will ensure that Mr. Chebukati does not officiate any duties in the electoral agency.

According to the Rights group, they have accused him for failing to grant them access together with other petitioners to the database holding crucial information regarding the 2017 presidential elections.

Wafula Chebukati has now defended himself saying that the court has no jurisdiction to issue orders seeking him to be behind bars for six months. He additionally faulted the Human Rights agency for sueing the entire IEBC instead of charging him alone.

Therefore, Chebukati has claimed that the charges against him have been put in place to frustrate and prevent him from contacting his duties in the coming general elections.
