It seems like leaders from Mount Kenya East have forgiven Deputy President William Ruto for picking Rigathi Gachagua over one of their own, Kindiki Kithure. This was evident on Monday whereby one of the vocal MP from the area advised Kindiki on the seat he should ask for supposedly Deputy President William Ruto's wins the 2022 presidential race

According to Maara MP Kareke Mbiuki, he asked the Tharaka Nithi Senator that he should ditch the proposed Attorney General (AG) position which Ruto has promised to offer once he wins. Rather, the Tharaka Nithi based MP has asked Kindiki Kithure to go for the Minister of Transport position.
Experienced Kareke Mbiuki has explained that this cabinet position will help the people of Tharaka Nithi directly since their main challenge is bad roads. According to Maara MP, this will be better as compared to the Attorney General position with will not directly benefit the people of Tharaka Nithi County
