Speaking on Friday, January 6 evening in Mombasa, Raila told Duale to respect the mosque as a sacred place rather than turning it into political podiums after prayers.
The former Prime Minister further urged Duale and other Kenya Kwanza leaders to let churches and mosques be used for religious matters only.
"Tunaonya bwana Duale, wachana na Sheikh Juma Ngao. Ngao anasema maneno ya ukweli yale ambayo yamefanyika. Tuongee nje yale ambayo yamefanyika, wasienda kwa msikiti kuleta siasa.
On December 20, 2022, Duale warned Ambassadors in Kenya that the Kenya Kwanza government would not recognize anyone who deals with Sheikh Ngao.
"I am speaking on behalf of the president, If you deal with Sheikh Juma Ngao, we will not recognize you as government," Duale said.
