The Supreme Court has finally given out its full presidential verdict and gave reasons as to why they upheld President Dr. William Samoei Ruto's victory. Raila Odinga missed the top seat but later petitioned the declaration made by IEBC Chairman Mr. Wafula Chebukati.
Chief Justice Martha Koome yesterday released number of recommendations to Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commision. The recommendations detailed on how they will resolve IEBC cases in future.
In the detailed report, Chief Justice Martha Koome argued that there are institutional flaws undermining the independence of independent commissions such as IEBC. Koome ordered for immediate reforms of IEBC to make it stronger and against external forces like what happened.
However, Martha Karua rubbished off Koome's full presidential verdict calling it "hot air". The leader of Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Coalition disagreed with the Apex Court Chief Justice Koome on the way they handled presidential election petition.
