Director of Public Prosecutions Noordin Haji today has criticized the government following the orders subjected to him. According to DPP Noordin Haji, the constitution of Kenya is clearly defending him and allowing him to access information and discharge his mandate to Kenyans and not to be coward or threatened by anybody.
“Those who are trying to challenge us in court for this meeting should refer to the constitution. Article 35 of the Constitution and Section 96 of the County Government Act, 2012 provide for the right to access information. Article 35 (1)particularly guarantees all Kenyan citizens the right to access any information held by the state or information held by another person and required for the exercise or protection of any right or fundamental freedom, said DPP Noordin Haji.
The court has stopped DDP Noordin Haji from holding or hosting any media press using public funds since he was planning to influence the media not to cover pending petitions at Public Service Commission.
