Anne Waiguru Reveals Details of a Special Lunch She Attended on Tuesday Afternoon

Kirinyaga county governor Anne Mumbi Waiguru has disclosed details of a special lunch that she took part in on Tuesday afternoon.

According to her, the luncheon had brought together several leaders including the top of the county bosses as well as other county leaders and officials of the Council of Governors.

The lunch was aimed at bidding farewell to the Chief Executive Officer of the Council of Governors Madam Justice Jackiline Mogeni who has since joined the Judiciary.

She has since wished the outgoing CEO the very best as she goes ahead to join the Judiciary in her capacity as a judge of the Environment and Lands relations court.

It is not yet known who will be replacing her as the CEO. The CEO heads the Council’s secretariat and management. The office holder is in-charge of the day-to-day running of the body and advises the governors on technical matters.

The Council of County Governors (COG) is a non-partisan organization established under Section 19 of the Intergovernmental Relations Act (IGRA 2012). The Council of Governors comprises of the Governors of the forty-seven Counties.

The main functions are the promotion of visionary leadership; sharing of best practices and; offer a collective voice on policy issues; promote inter – county consultations; encourage and initiate information sharing on the performance of County Governments with regard to the execution of their functions; collective consultation on matters of interest to County Governments.
