The race for the presidential race has picked up very fast as leaders go around the country trying to gather as many votes as possible from Kenyans for them to take seats in the coming general elections in August coming this year. His excellency Dr.William Samoei Ruto has been making a lot of promises to his supporters if he assumes the seat of the fifth president of Kenya. One of them is that each and every Kenyan will have a medical cover. This will include those who will not be able to pay it.
He promised yesterday in Nakuru and also today in his Kabete, Limuru and Kikuyu rallies that the government will be paying NHIF cover for those who are economically unstable. The Fund's core mandate is to provide medical insurance cover to all its members and their declared dependents (spouse and children). The NHIF membership is usually open to all Kenyans who have attained the age of 18 years and years and have a monthly income of more than Ksh 1000. Those without employment usually are disadvantaged due to lack of money
