Governor Susan Kihika of the United Democratic Alliance won the seat from Jubilee Party's Lee Kinyanjui who had been serving for the last five years and was hoping for reelection.
Across the country, new governors have been cleaning up the counties that they inherited alleging that there was widespread malpractice in the recruitment of most employees.
According to the available reliable reports that we have, the employees had been given a one month notice and most of that expired on the 11th of October 2022.
The source that revealed the information, explained that a majority of those sacked were drawn from the county's political office and other divisions which include drivers, protocol departments as well as personal assistants from former Governor Lee Kinyanjui's office.
