The Speaker of the National Assembly Hon. Moses Wetang’ula has today November 26th 2022 made major appointments to the Membership of Commission On Revenue Allocation. This after he received communication from the leadership of the Majority and Minority Parties conveying the selection of seven (7) persons for appointment.
The names have since been referred to the Departmental Committee on Finance and National Planning for vetting. Those who landes the lucrative post at CRA are Hon Fatuma Gedi and Dr George Jalango Midiwo who were selected by the Minority side in the Parliament. Wilfred Koitamet Ole Kina was also selected to the CRA.
From the Majority Side in the National Assembly, former Saboti Gubernatorial Aspirant Hon Jonas Kuko, Isabel Nyambura Waiyaki and Hon Hadija Nganyi Juma were selected to the powerful committee. Also Hon Benedict Muasya Mutiso was appointed to the CRA by Majority party.
To qualify for appointment, a person is required, pursuant to Article 215(4) of the Constitution, to have extensive professional experience in financial and economic matters; and further, pursuant to section 6(1) of the Commission on Revenue Allocation Act, 2011 to hold a degree from a university or an equivalent professional qualification recognized in Kenya; have professional experience in financial and economic matters of at least ten years; have a distinguished career in their respective fields; and meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution.
