The Luo group from Nyanza have since time immemorial had their leader that they follow and depend on to give directions. At one point stories of one luo leader Lwanda Magere led the tribe in fighting the Nandi and the Kipsigis in border conflicts which the always won.

With the coming of modernisation the Luos were at one point led by Jaramogi Oginga Odinga whom they trusted and could agitate their issues on national levels. When Jaramogi died his son Raila Odinga was passed the mantle and has led for over a decade now.

Raila and his father Jaramogi.
But things are slowly changing. It seems the luo Nyanza are tied of Odinga's leadership and wants a new blood in the Kingpinship. Today in a leaked poster shared by blogger Robert Allai it seems the Kingpin is shifting from Raila to powerful politician Hon. Evans Kidero from Homabay County.

Dr. Evans Kidero
In the post Allai has terribly criticized the move citing Kidero as corrupt and not fit to lead the tribe.
