Kanini Kega Admits Hustler Wave is Strong After Waiguru's Latest Remarks

Kieni MP, Kanini Kega.

Kieni member of parliament, Kanini Kega, has come out to share his thoughts concerning the 2022 general election. Speaking to the media on Sunday (October 17th) after attending a church service at Munyu Catholic church, Kega said that Mt Kenya must make a profound decision in the 2022 polls.

The legislator stated that the 2022 polls will be a two-horse race between the former prime minister Raila Odinga and the deputy president William Ruto.

The parliamentarian went ahead to dismiss other candidates eyeing for the top seat, terming them as jokers. Kega's unfortunate remarks came despite having hosted the OKA principals in his constituency a few months ago.

Kanini went ahead to admit that William Ruto enjoys overwhelming support in Mt Kenya and this is why most leaders from the region are finding it difficult to join Raila's camp. He added that although Ruto's influence is high at the moment, it will dilute with time.

"We are just a few of us from Mt Kenya who are openly supporting Raila for the presidential seat. This perhaps is because of how the situation is on the ground. President Uhuru Kenyatta has given us direction and with time we believe that more leaders will join us," alluded Kega.

The lawmaker went further and castigated Kirinyaga governor, Anne Waiguru, for her latest move. Kanini said that a leader should direct the masses on which route to take and not waiting to be guided.

"I wonder what kind of a leader you are if you're waiting to be given directions by those you lead. A good leader should follow their heart and then convince people why they should follow a particular course. It's very unfortunate for some leaders in our region to make some statements," added the parliamentarian.

Anne Waiguru is on record saying that she will follow the direction given by the people of Kirinyaga. She has also noted that Ruto has big following in Mt Kenya region.

The Kieni MP also noted that Raila Odinga is the only candidate who has shown goodwill in supporting Mt Kenya region interests. He cited the BBI report and the contested revenue formula that, according to him, were set to benefit Mt Kenya region.
