Days after ODM Party Leader Raila Odinga toured a number of Mt Kenya counties and received an overwhelming reception from locals, one of Deputy President William Ruto's close allies from the region has come out to weigh in on the same.
Speaking on Thursday when he accompanied DP Ruto in hosting youth leaders from Narok County, Mathira MP Rigathi Gachagua laughed off the recent massive reception of Raila Odinga at his constituency in Karatina town.
Gachagua watered down Raila's ambitions, saying he has no plans for Kenyans and that he will be handed a proper defeat by William Ruto in 2022.
According to the UDA allied legislator, Raila's visit to Mt Kenya region saw a larger number of people turning up to welcome him due to five things. He claimed that one group was eager to come and see a person who was at the center stage during the uprooting of the railway line in Kibra.
He went ahead to claim that the other group came out to see a person who swore himself in 2017 as the people's president. "The other group came over to see a person that tried to overturned Moi's rule in 1982. Others came to see the person who caused turbulence in Kibaki's government while the other came to see a man who has destroyed Jubilee...he thought they are his followers, not knowing they had come out to see a person who has destroyed Kenya" alleged Gachagua.
He claimed Raila's time is over and should leave leaders who have plans for the country to steer Kenya to the next level come 2022.
