Ruto Announces Goodies to Kenyans Who Will Attend Jamhuri Day Event

A move which can be seen as a countermove to ODM leader Raila Odinga's scheduled parallel Jamhuri Day celebrations on Monday, December 12, 2022, the government of President William Ruto has announced that it will provide goodies to all Kenyans who will be attending the event. Raila Odinga's celebrations are scheduled to take place on the same day.

According to the information that was provided by the newly sworn PS Interior Raymond Omollo, the government has now declared that in the wake of the new Technology and Digital Economics theme for this year's 59th Jamhuri Day celebrations. The National Celebrations Committee has offered free tech scholarships for certification courses for any qualified person attending the occasion in person at the Nyayo Stadium on Monday. The subject for this year's Jamhuri Day festivities is "Jamhuri Day 59: Technology and Digital Economy."

The purpose of this, according to the government, is to position Kenya as a leading global and regional talent in the fields of technology and digital economy.

Raila Odinga, the chief opposition leader, had previously promised to organize rival Jamhuri Day festivities in Jacaranda Gardens in Embakasi in the city of Nairobi.
