After the petitioner showed up in court to request a block on the president's candidacy, Professor George Wajackoyah met significant challenges. The petitioner claims that George Wajackoyah has two citizenships, which is against Kenyan constitutional requirements.
The petitioner establishes Wajackoyah's citizenship by stating that he once ran a campaign for British Parliamentarians. He was, however, disqualified since he was single.
The issue is currently in court, and there are several obstacles in the way of Wajackoyah becoming president. The three contenders will compete for the presidency if the petition is granted by the court. According to the Kenyan Constitution, candidates for president must be wholly Kenyan and cannot also have citizenship in another nation. Kenyans holding dual citizenship must first renounce it in order to hold the nation's top position.
