After the long awaited presidential results, the Kenya Kwanza Presidential Candidate William Ruto has been declared by IEBC Chairman Wafula Chebukati as the president elect. Dr William Ruto garnered 50.49% of the over 14 million votes that were casted on the August 9th.
While celebrating their victory as Kenya Kwanza Alliance, the Elgeyo Marakwet senator Kipchumba Murkomen has described their journey to state house as uneasy one, saying that it was full of tribulations and perseverance. According to the former senate majority leader, were it not for God's devine guidance, they would have not emerged victorious.
"It’s been a long, winding, tedious journey full of thorns and stones. I don’t even have words to describe the joy within me. It’s been all about God and dear Kenyans. God bless you," posted Murkomen on his Facebook page.
Meanwhile, the election is not to divide us, it is to help us set up a new group of leaders who will advance the country. It is important that we embrace patience, peace, unity, love and solidarity as we continue to wait results from IEBC.
