How Female MPs Are Plotting to Subdue Powerful CS After Fallout in Recent Murang'a By-election

All is not well in the UDA party after some female MPs from Murang’a County vowed to humiliate one of their own.

Former Kandara MP Alice Wahome who is now Cabinet Secretary for Water, Sanitation and Irrigation in William Ruto’s government will face opposition in her Murang’a backyard orchestrated by fellow women leaders.

Female MPs led by Murang’a Women Rep Betty Maina and Maragua MP Mary Wamaua Waithira have threatened to recruit other leaders from this county to fight the powerful CS for reportedly interfering with local politics (Video below).

“She is a national leader and should not play local politics. She is a Water Minister and not a village plumber. If she attempts to play politics in Murang’a, tutanyorosha yeye” Betty told the CS.

The beef started during the campaigns and subsequently mini-elections in Kandara constituency that Wahome represented since 2013.

The CS went against the grain and supported Ford Asili’s aspirant Titus Njau instead of the UDA guy Chege Njuguna.

Njuguna of UDA won with 21,650 followed by Njau with 14,678 votes.

President William Ruto with CS Alice Wahome.

Betty claims the CS undermined the will of Ruto and now they will teach her a lesson.

They have decided to humiliate her by getting Njau a job and recruit her in the UDA side.

The winner Njuguna came second in August elections that Wahome won but was appointed CS.

Titus Njau who lost recent Kandara by-elections. He was Wahome's candidate. Murang'a UDA leaders have promised to get him a job.

“I schooled with Njau in same school. I have talked to the UDA party leaders and other top government officials. We will get Njau a good job. CS Wahome should not think that I her supporter. He never liked Njau. He used him to fight Njuguna” Betty said.
