Chinga ward member of county assembly in Othaya constituency has said that Mt Kenya Foundation might not influence Mt Kenya region voters. This is after the foundation held meeting with several presidential candidates. They are also required to conduct interviews and choose a person they will support.
According to Kiruga, the foundation has nothing to do with who Mt Kenya region people will vote for. He gave a case study of former president Mwai Kibaki. That despite the fact that he had influence on Othaya people, his choice of his successor was rejected.
He said that the people didn't shy away from turning his choice down his choice. He also told Nyeri member of parliament honourable Ngunjiri Wambugu and lawyer Wahome Thuku to stop celebrating this early.
It should be remembered that Kiruga is one of the staunch supporters of deputy president William Ruto. He is confident that Ruto will take over the country's top job.
