The former prime minister, Raila Odinga, is expected to make major declaration on Friday, December 10th. The declaration will reveal whether Odinga will be on the ballot come August 2022. The Kasarani meeting will also mark the end of the Azimio la Umoja campaign which have been going on across the country.
Many politicians from ODM and Jubilee party have confirmed attendance to this meeting. However, some key politicians will not be attending the Kasarani declaration. ANC party leader, Musalia Mudavadi, and president Uhuru Kenyatta are some of the heavyweight politicians who will skip the meeting.
Raila has received a major boost after Kilifi governor, Amason Kingi, confirmed that he will be attending the Kasarani declaration. Through his social media handles, Kingi has said that he will be representing his party Pamoja African Alliance (PAA), in the meeting.
His attendance is a major boost to Odinga's presidential quest. His party, PAA, might endorse Raila for the top seat and this will play a major role in consolidating the Coast vote.
Kingi has been missing in action in all Raila Odinga political activities since the day he decamped from ODM party. The second term governor did not attend the Azimio la Umoja, Coast chapter. Many Kenyans have been speculating that the Kilifi boss might endorse another candidate for the top seat.
Amason Kingi was also dewhipped from his position as ODM Kilifi county chairman after he formed his own party. Share your thoughts.
