Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition party had a campaign trail in the Mount Kenya region where they were wooing voters to come out in numbers and vote for their presidential candidate Raila Odinga.

The meetings were done at different spots including in Nyeri County and had a mammoth crowd that attended owing to the fact that according to various opinion polls the region is largely behind Deputy President William Ruto.

Speaking to K24 on Monday, July 6, governance expert Dennis Nthumbi alleged that chiefs in those areas were instructed to frog march residents to attend the Azimio rally in the region.

He further claimed that the state was now using force and other machinery into forcing people to support their choice of the presidency.

“There is something unfortunate that happened in yesterday's Raila's visit to Nyeri. The entire provision administration was mobilized to frog people to this rally, we can see the use of force and state machinery,” he said.
