The party which continues popularizing itself within the coast region will not field a presidential candidate but instead will back Raila's bid. Earlier this month, reports indicated that the party was working on a coalition agreement with ODM, however, ODM dismissed the reports stating that there was no any discussion between them and PAA.
A local publication, the Standard, has today reported that PAA will back Raila's Presidential bid in 2022. This is a very big boost for the former prime minister who is keen on taking over the leadership of the country from president Uhuru Kenyatta who is serving his last term.
It also indicate that majority of votes from the coastal region will go to Raila's side considering that majority of the leaders from the region are leaning towards him.
