The oldest party in the country, Kenya African Union (KANU) has come out clear on whether it will be fielding a presidential candidate in the 2022 general elections. This comes a day after it emerged that Gideon Moi declared that he wont defend his Baringo Senatorial seat in the 2022 elections thus speculations on whether he will be going for the top seat

According to KANU Secretary General Nick Salat, KANU will field candidates in all elective positions expect the presidency. Nick Salat has explained that this decision is under their Azimio La Umoja agreement where KANU Party leader Gideon Moi is one of the top principals

"KANU Party will field candidates in all elective positions, except the presidency. Ignore fake information circulating on various social media platforms to the effect that parties under Azimio Coalition have agreed to the electoral zoning of the country," read message by KANU Secretary General
