"Why So Fast?" Kenyans Ask Questions After Swearing In Is Done One Day After Impeachment

The embattled Wajir County governor Mohammed Abdi impeachment was Confirmed yesterday after 25 senators voted to approve the decision of the select committee that had proposed his removal. Okong'o Omogeni led committee found governor Mohammed Abdi guilty of gross violation of the Constitution, a charge out of the 17 that were levelled against the governor that was substantiated.

However, Kenyans have been baffled with the speed at which the Deputy governor's swearing in process has been organised. Some have asked questions of whether it was planned or the fate of the governor was a matter of when and not if.

Barely hours after governor Mohammed Abdi was impeached, his deputy Mr Ahmed Ali Muktar is assuming office after the Swearing in process is organised. Some Kenyans who reacted on Nation Media news bought the ideas of the embattled governor that most impeachments are usually politically instigated.

Mr Ahmed Ali will assume office up to the next general elections when the people of Wajir will go back to the ballot to elect a new governor.
