Bungoma: Leaders Urge Residents To Collect ID's, Register as Voters

Daniel Makecho a politician from Sirisia Constituency Bungoma County has asked residents to collect their Identification cards and registrar as voters in an IEBC ongoing exercise.

Speaking to people daily in Bungoma town, Makecho said that for the Luhya nation to produce the next president, residents should turn up in huge numbers and register as voters.

He said that Luhya land has a huge population and if they front one leader for Presidency automatically will win the elections and succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta.

“Let’s stop this hide and seek game that voters must be bribed before they register as voters, if the Luhya nation produces the next President it will be for our own good,” he noted.

On her part, Scholastic Arocho, Bungoma County registrar of persons revealed that at least 9,652 people in Bungoma have not collected their identification cards from the offices.

Mrs. Arocho called on residents to visit the Sub-counties and collect their Identity cards so that they can take part in an ongoing voter registration exercise.

She added that the statistics for the nine Sub-counties are as follows: Bungoma South 767, Bungoma North 92, Bumula 319, Bungoma East 1,363, Bungoma West 518, Mt.Elgon 505, Bungoma Central 910, Kimilili 1,078, Cheptais 495, Webuye West 572, Tongaren 473 and Huduma centre 2,560.
