Friday of 30th April,2021 President Uhuru Kenyatta held virtually general Unlimited global leadership council meeting where he is a member. He said that coronavirus has brought negative impacts on youths. According to president Kenyatta, 168 millions children aged 10-24 years have been closed for almost entire year at home due to covid-19.
They should have been either in school learning, seeking job opportunities or working. But unfortunately, most of them have lost jobs while others remain home without positive things to do. By the end of day, most youths are risking their life by using drug abuse which can lead to social immoralities and early pregnancy.
However, president Kenyatta said that covid-19 has also improved innovative among youths. Giving example of Mr. Calvin Shikuku a 2020 GenU challenge winner from Kenya. President Uhuru Kenyatta finished by saying that youths should be given chance as they hold key to recovery, resilience and sustainable future.
