While most Kenyans have expressed their discontent with how Ruto responded to the questions he was asked, Babu Owino has also come out to air his mind on the outcome of the interview. The celebrated and influential politician has slammed the President for telling lies and avoiding direct answers to the queries the journalists presented. The Embakasi East legislator has claimed that Ruto is only consistent in telling lies and being gibberish about the state of affairs.

“One thing that Dr.Ruto is consistent in is telling lies. Mgala muue na haki umpe. This interview on the State of the Nation is gibberish. Tell us how you will deal with the high cost of living and how our youth, men, and women will get jobs, Mr. President. Otherwise from 0 to 10 you score (-2). The only way to avoid exploitation, degradation, oppression, corruption, and poverty is to come together against the common enemy,” Hon. Babu Owino posted on his official social media pages.

Most Kenyans have agreed with Babu Owino as they questioned the validity of Ruto's claims and stance as the Head of State. Others argued that the President was not convincing and did not satisfactorily address ailing issues such as high standards of living, rising insecurity, increased school fees, poor economy, and youth unemployment. Here are some of the reactions from Kenyans on social media:
Vitus: I voted for him but he didn't convince me at all. He never pulled a crowd and he is full of praising himself. I expected goodwill but lol. He is President the we have. It will take more than a prayer to change our situation as a country.
Daniel: Babu Owino kindly let's introduce a team of opposition ministers to act as a watchtower to the ministers he appointed because some of them are just there to represent their respective ministries instead of delivering to the people of Kenya.
Vinic: When he starts calling the journalists 'my friend' just know he is offended by the question. And if he starts speaking English with some Kalenjin accent, jua uongo umeanza (lies have started).
