Lawyer Steve Ogolla Opinion on Holding Referendum Before Elections

High flying lawyer Steve Ogolla has delivered a crashing blow to those who have been hopeful that the country will hold a referendum before next year's general election.

Speaking while at a local TV station, the Lawyer has opined that it's very difficult for a country to hold a referendum immediately before a general election due to legal challenges.

Steve Ogolla – Advocate, High Court: "It is not possible to hold a referendum before the elections because there are legal and practical challenges."

Proponents of BBI, which is meant to climax with a referendum had envisioned the country will head to the ballot before August, but that will not happen due to current BBI cases in the court.

A section of political observers opine that the biggest threat to the proposed referendum is time constraints, because IEBC must be given adequate time to prepare for next year's general election.

However, proponents of BBI have continued to exude confidence that a referendum will happen before next year's general election.
