ODM's Philip Etale Castigates Mudavadi for Replying to Raila's Invitation Through a Tweet

The ODM Communication Director Philip Etale has now responded to the news about Musalia Mudavadi’s decline to attend the ODM’s Azimio la Umoja meeting at Kasarani on Friday 2021-12-10.

It is said that ODM had invited most of the OKA bigwigs to its function however at the 11th hour two of them revealed that they will not be able to attend it due to various reasons. Musalia Mudavadi broke the news on his official twitter handle that he will not honour the invitation due to personal engagements.

Well, a leader of Mudavadi’s stature is likely to have commitments that can prevent him from attending such meetings however the manner in which he broke the news seems to have rubbed the ODM Communication Director the wrong way and so he decided to respond with fury.

Etale castigated Mudavadi for lack of decorum in a manner in which he relayed the information. According to Etale, Mudavadi could have informed ODM about his failure in a formal manner but not through a social media post.

“When the invitation card was issued, it wasn’t posted on social media. It was not even shown on TV. It was between the sender and the receiver. Let us not behave like children,” said Etale.

Could it be that Mudavadi did this on purpose? Was it right for Mudavadi to reply to an official invitation through a social media post? Well, it is said that politics is a house of cards and many things depend on perception.

Perhaps the ANC leader sent a coded message with the manner in which he communicated back at the ODM party.

With Mudavadi declaring his position on the Friday event, it is now clear that the OKA’s two top leaders will now not attend the event because the Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has also travelled to South Sudan.
