Vocal Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala, an ardent supporter of Musalia Mudavadi has come out to allege that Edwin Sifuna, the current Secretary General of the ODM is not what he is regarding the position he holds.
Senator Malala stated that the people who play a bigger role in making decisions in ODM are not even in association with the aspiring Nairobi Senator, and Sifuna was just appointed to that position for purposes of optics, i.e, to show the public that democracy when in real sense it doesn't.

"We have parties that only put up people for the purposes of optics. I can assure you that Sifuna is not the Secretary General for ODM. The real people who make decisions for ODM are nowhere near him," he claimed.

At Bomas when Musalia Mudavadi entered into a pact to work with DP Ruto ahead of the 2022 general elections, Luhya leaders affiliated to Raila Odinga were furious with the move, claiming that they have been auctioned and as a result they can't accept Ruto whatsoever.
