President Uhuru Kenyatta Nominates Anthony Mwaniki for PSC Top Post

Kenyan Head of State president Uhuru Kenyatta has nominated Ambassador Anthony Mwaniki for the position of the chairperson of the Public Service Commission.

This now clears the way for the National Assembly to vet him and incase they approve his nomination, his approval will be sent back to president Uhuru Kenyatta for appointment to the powerful position.

Ambassador Anthony Mwaniki Muchiri has been serving as Kenya's Ambassador to Cuba since presenting his Letters of Credence to H.E. the Most Hon. Sir Patrick Allen in July 2019.

This comes after interviews were done on PSC vice chairperson Charity Kisotu and former Special Programmes PS Mahboub Mohammed Maalim who were among those shortlisted.

Others were Selly Jemutai Kimosop, Charles Onami Maranga, Kennedy Juma Mulunda, Susannah Rebecca Ochieng, Maurice Mutinda Wambua, Nancy Oundo Dalla, Elseba Jepkoech Too, David Kung'u Njoroge and Duke Omondi Orata.

The chairperson is tasked with overseeing the commission whose functions include establishing and abolishing offices in the public service as well as appointing persons to oversee them.
