There has been a cloud of confusion after vocal critic of Deputy President William Ruto was seen wearing a UDA cap. This is Ainabkoi MP William Chepkut who was part of the team of Rift Valley leaders who were rallying the region to vote against DP Ruto come the August elections

Chepkut was in this team with the likes of Kesses MP Swarup Mishra, Cherengany MP Joshua Kutuny and Nandi Hills MP Alfred Keter amongst several others. This thus saw Chepkut who was elected via a Jubilee ticket to enter the 2022 elections with an Independent ticket with hopes of retaining his seat.
However, this have been not good for the one term Ainabkoi MP due to the hostile grounds mainly because of being Ruto's critic. He has however taken a step back where he could be heard telling the residents to vote for William Ruto for President and Chepkut as the MP as he donned a UDA branded cap
