According to Kelvin Osido a governance expert Uhuru should personally take Raila Odinga to the Mt Kenya region and talk to the people about how he stood by him when things were thick. Despite Raila taking Uhuru to his background in Kisumu and Nyanza region, the president has never accompanied the ODM leader to any rally in the Mt Kenya region. The absence of Uhuru in all Raila central tours has begged questions as to whether the president is afraid of taking Raila to his background or he is simply occupied by state duties.
However Uhuru has never clearly declared that he will support the former prime Minister in his presidential bid come 2022.
However the two have seemed to be closer than ever since the 2018 handshake to an extent of emergence of speculations that Jubilee was going to form a coalition with ODM.
