The last Saturday of 27th of February 2021 saw various leaders gathered to the funeral of the late Mama Selina Nasike Wangamati, mother to H.E Wycliffe Wafula Wangamati the governor of Bungoma county.
Mama Selina Nasike Wangamati was born in 1939 to the late major Melchizedek Wekesa and major Truphena Nabifwo of Ndakaru, Sirisia Sub County.
She was a staunch member of the Salvation Army.
Mama Selina happened to have practiced nursing in Webuye Hospital and later saw her specialising in nutrition and dietetics which gave way for her posting in Bungoma District Hospital as a pioneer nutritionist.
In 2001 she was first hospitalised for high blood pressure there were medication prescribed to manage her condition.
Recently she happened to have complained about abdominal pains whereby Catherine her eldest daughter being around took Mama to Aga Khan Clinic Bungoma for medical checkup.
Doctor certified that she was okay and prescription for medication followed suit.
As a norm for her she passed on peacefully in her sleep on the night of Tuesday 16th February and early morning of 17th February 2021. May her soul rest in peace

As leaders are united in funeral and preach unity talks , we hope that the very future of our nation be forged on unity as this will create room for economic growth and stability of our nation.
