In the last two days Darawa community living in Mandera county held a series of meeting in Takaba Mandera west Constituency with the aim of choosing their preferred governor in the next general election.
There are five gobernatorial Aspirant from Darawa community alone and the main aim of the meeting is to come up with one person who will going to replace Ali Roba the current governor of Mandera.
Today elders from Mandera county finally Endorsed Faisal Abdirahman Abass as the next governor for Mandera county.
The other four Aspirant was told to try their luck 2027 general election as they don't qualify for the governorship position.
Among those who have been told not to run for the position of governor includes the following.
Mohamed Maalim Mohamud who is the current senator of Mandera County.
Abdullahi Mzungu who is also the businessman.
Yussuf Rafiki a businessman the owner of the Rafiki pharmaceutical in Eastleigh Nairobi.
Abdullahi Maalim Hassan former assistant chief of wargadud.
