DP Rigathi Gachagua
The deputy president, Rigathi Gachagua, graced the graduation ceremony of medical students at the Outspan Medical College in Nyeri county. Gachagua was the chief guest in the event held on Saturday 19.
The second in command was accompanied by various leaders from Nyeri county among them; Governor Mutahi Kahiga, Senator Wahome Wamatinga, MP John Kaguchia, MP Duncan Mathenge, MP Njoroge Wainaina, MP Geoffrey Wandeto among others.
In his speech, Gachagua intensified his call for unity among all leaders in the Mt Kenya region, despite the faction they supported in the August polls. He stated that all politicians from the region are welcome to join the government.
The former Mathira member of parliament also noted that he is aiming to wipe out Azimio from Mt Kenya region by December 31st. The DP alluded that by the said date he will have streamlined the 13% that voted for Azimio to support the current government.
"We are calling for the 1% of leaders from this region who blindly followed the former president Uhuru Kenyatta to join us in government. I want by 31st of December to have everyone on board including the 13% that voted for Azimio in the last election. We must speak in one voice as a region," stated the DP. (Watch video from 1 hr).
