This occurs the day after Betty Maina, a Muranga women's representative, accused Alice Wahome, the secretary of the Water Cabinet, of not endorsing the UDA candidate in the Kandara constituency by-elections and instead endorsing a rival candidate who was running on the platform of another party.

Peter Mbugua, one of the irked leaders, believes that these divisions especially among Mount Kenya who fervently are behind president William Samoei Ruto are definitely not healthy. He highlighted how important it was for the United squad to advance. Mount Kenya people feel they are not treated fairly after the president William Samoei Ruto choose only his people.

He continued to say that, the war in the Mount Kenya region, could further degenerate into splitting the ruling coalition party. This is after Mount Kenya has produced vote rich hence second in command.

There is a sharp power struggle among the leaders in the Mount Kenya region.
