Therein are now more women in leadership positions in Africa than 35 years ago.In Kenya we have women in leadership as follows ;
We have 3 Kenyan women who have vied for presidency in Kenya .These are Charity Ngilu (1997),Prof Julia Ojiambo (2007)and Martha karua (2013).
We have six women who have expressed in the interest in vying for the governors position in 2017 General Election in Bomet ,Nairobi ,Uasin Gishu ,Embu,Machakos and Kisumu .Currently there is no female governor out of the 47 counties.
Kenya have 86 number of female parliamenarians and 17 number of women chairp in parliamentary committees .There are 92 chairperson posts in the senate and National Assembly .
In Africa we have 25% of female parliamentarians in Africa .
Out of the 13 chief justices in post -independence Kenya ,none of them has been a woman.
