Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader Raila Odinga, has slammed the opponents of the new constitution of 2010 who opposed even the creation of devolution saying it will not work.

In his latest message of his social media account handles, Raila slammed the opponents saying that they opposed the devolution system of governance saying it will not work by it has become a reality and is working.

Odinga said that what needs to be done now is just the small things of increasing more resources allocation to the counties and renew the contract between the people and the government, to ensure that everyone feels the existence of government by getting developments from the county government. The county government should therefore used more resources in development projects not on personal emoluments.

"Devolution had a powerful opponents, but it is here and working. In the years ahead we must renew our contract between the people and our two levels of Government. Our people must feel that government whether the County or national government is there for them and cares about them. Counties should spend the largest share of their revenues on development and not on personal emoluments. Our people need our help. #Inawezekana." He said.
