Uganda has been on the spotlight since the outcome of the concluded general elections which were held earlier this year. The general election pitied incumbent President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and a first timer, the Kyadondo East Constituency Member of Parliment, Hon. Robert Kyagulanyi also known as Bobi Wine.
The incumbent President Yoweri Museveni won in an election that was marred with protests, abductions of opponents by Uganda police and Military and electoral malpractices. The opposition led by National Unity Platform's Bobi Wine has since rejected the outcome of the elections and has filled its petition in the Uganda Supreme Court awaiting its verdict on 18 March 2021. The International communities including the EU have also voiced their concerns about the outcome and have been pilling pressure on the government.
According to NTV Uganda, The government of Uganda has asked the European Union to respect its sovereignty by not meddling in local politics and other governance affairs.
