Forget Raila's 6000 Per Month, Here Is The Category of Kenyans Set to Receive Money From Ruto's Govt

While Azimio la Umoja leader Raila Odinga had promised to give poor families a monthly stipend of Sh6000, his plan never came to pass after he failed to ascend to the presidency

Raila Odinga lost to President William Ruto, who did not include such a package in his manifesto, 'The Plan'.

It has now emerged that it is not all lost for those Kenyans who were counting on Raila to give them Sh6000, President William Ruto on Sunday announced almost a similar package to that of Raila.

President Ruto while hosting a thanks-giving service at the State House Nairobi told the nation that his government would be adding money to Kenyans' bank accounts.

Category of Kenyans who stand to benefit

President Ruto revealed that Kenyans who save money would get this special package from the government added to their savings

He said the government will be adding money to their savings based on the percentage of what is available in one's savings.

"If any Kenyan saves an amount, the government of Kenya will give them money equivalent to the percentage of the saving to become part of their savings. This is meant to encourage a culture of saving in this country," President Ruto said.

Unlike's Raila's package that was to target the poor, Ruto's package is targeting people who save money, in this case, most poor families who live a hand-t-mouth lifestyle will not benefit from the package because they do not earn enough to save.
