Former West Pokot County Governor Hon. John Lonyangapuo has officially informed the public that his political party, Kenya Union Party (KUP) will not participate in tomorrow's consultative forum destined by the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Alliance Coalition, Hon. Raila Odinga at Kamukuji Grounds Nairobi. Kenya Union Party is one of the affiliate parties forming the opposition Coalition.
In a press conference also attended by other KUP leaders, the party leader said that it was not right for the suffering Kenyans to be engaged in protests when the country is still undergoing an economic crisis of inflation. Lonyangapuo affirmed that due to improper planning and consultations there will be no need to go to the streets.
Lonyangapuo said, "For us we have left you alone and we now come out to disassociate ourselves with the approach given by our coalition leadership in engaging in protests. As an affiliate party we say no because there no meeting made for consultation. We did not see them calling us for any consultation. We therefore request Mr. Raila to find other alternative and better ways of raising disagreement including use of parliament and courts."
