However, Mike Sonko will not be allowed to run for office in Mombasa because he was appointed Nairobi Governor over allegations of corruption, and yesterday Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission chairman Wafula Chebukati insisted that any ousted leader would not be allowed to run for office. running for office in the next general election, Sonko has already nominated Ali Mbogo as his running mate but it looks like their fate is over.
